I, too, am looking forward to many of those movies, although I'm looking forward to the Avengers more for Capt. America than Thor! I'm also lining up for The Hobbit. I saw all of the other LoTR movies in the theatre (midnight showings for the last two!) and plan on being there! I tend to enjoy "guy" movies far more than chick flicks--hmmm, sounds like my fiction tastes too. My youngest really wants to see Act of Valor. So far I've given him the noncommittal "we'll see." You'll have to fill me in after you see it, then I'll decide whether he can go or not. We've been bringing our own bowls for years, (Country Crock butter containers work great cuz then you can shake in the salt and butter) and we've done it when on vacation too. Not once have we had a problem. For us that's a real money saver because, as you said, concessions can be outrageous. When on my retreat last week, I took an afternoon to go see The Vow.
