No more pennies? Kav, that is so sad to me, and I don’t even really know why, but it is.

Love the penny facts. I’ve used one for a screw driver a time or two myself. I’ve also used one to check the tires tread.

I have a little collection of wheat pennies. I think my oldest is 1919, but I’d have to check again for sure.

I love the look of a penny covered floor! We do save our pennies as well, and when the school does a drive or has a call go out to help with a cause (usually a family has lost something or is in need), we send in the Lincolns. They DO add up!

That is sad, Kav. There’s been talks about the US getting rid of the penny as a government cost-saving measure–chances are we’re headed in Canada’s direction too–but it’ll certainly be sad when or if that day comes.

This is so sad because Canada has done away with the penny! We’re no longer producing them. Lots of schools had penny drives this spring to get rid of the loose change and now you don’t see pennies much anywhere. And stores don’t hand out pennies. They round off the cost of an item and you either pay a little more or a little less if you pay in cash.

I really like the penny floor or countertop idea–and the pictures look very cool. I might have to try it on a small tabletop first to see how well it really works.

Those are some great ideas, Brenda. I’ll have to try that one on my bird bath. I’ve seen pictures of penny floors. They look pretty cool. We have tons of pennies we could do something with, that’s for sure.

Hi Rose – Yep, Ben Franklin was right. All those cents add up over time.

Our family saves all our pennies in this massive bank (probably a few gallons??). After saving for years, we took those pennies into our bank and we were able to purchase a flat screen TV. It’s definitely worth it to save our pennies!

Find a penny pick up, all the day you’ll have good luck!

My husband and I have a ‘friendly’ competition about finding pennies and other coins on the ground. We pick up them and save them. At the end of the year we count our booty and we usually pick up anywhere from $6 to $19 in coins each year….most of the pennies!

Guess Ben Franklin knew what he was talking about, a penny saved is a penny earned!
