A Season of Gifts + A Giveaway!

This book is aimed at pre-teens and has quite a bit of humor in it. It is a historical book set in a small southern town in the 1950’s. SO…baby boomers can read this book and related to many of the scenarios that the main character faces. Plus it’s a great reminder that the spirit of Christmas is needed all year even from a self-proclaimed non-church goer.

I purchased this book when it released and usually read it every year. Spoiler alert, you will laugh out loud and then turn around and cry. Richard Peck is a very skillful writer!

What is the Christmas book that you like to read over and over?

Today I’m giving away a copy of Dakota Love. Leave a comment with your email address to be entered to win.

  1. I love Richard Peck but I have never read this one. Must check and see if my library has a copy. The Lion in the Box by Marguerite de Angeli is a book I read each Christmas. Such a touching story set at the turn of century — about a widow with five children struggling to make ends meet and a very special Christmas. A short little novel that packs a powerful dose of Christmas spirit.

  2. I haven’t read Richard Peck before, but Season of Gifts sounds fun! I’ll have to look it up. I also find Dakota Love interesting. Thank you for the giveaway. Annie justcommonly[at]gmail[dot]com. Thanks!

  3. Thanks for giving me a “new” author to “check out”. I am not familiar with Richard or his books.
“Dakota Love” would be a wonderful addition to the church library. Thanks for giving me the chance to win it.
